Kellianne Minarik, DVM, MS

Dr. Minarik grew up in San Jose, California before relocating to beautiful Sonoma County to complete her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Biology at Sonoma State University. There, she lead various research efforts in amphibian conservation including her master’s thesis that identified nitrate, a freshwater contaminant, as a chemical capable of altering mate choice in three Pacific Newt species. She spent two years instructing college level laboratory courses on topics including genetics, cell biology and microbiology. During her free time, she volunteered at a local wildlife rehabilitation center that received more than 4000 wild animals annually.

In 2014, Dr. Minarik’s love affair for the desert began as she moved to Glendale, AZ to join Midwestern University’s inaugural veterinary class. She has particular interests in pathology, internal medicine and nutrition. Dr. Minarik aims to utilize her unique background in companion animals, wildlife rehabilitation, and research to compassionately and thoughtfully care for your furry family.

In her spare time, Dr. Minarik enjoys spending time with her family and her two black cats, Minnie and Tiny Tim. While she’s not chasing monsoons, Dr. Minarik likes to fire up the barbecue, try craft beers, and travel to new places, not necessarily in that order.
